Davina Robertson

  • I aim to provide a warm, welcoming and confidential relationship within which we can explore how things are for you. We can work with all kinds of life events, transitions and personal issues that you may be concerned about. It may be that you are not able to identify what the area of difficulty is and simply have a sense that life is not going as well as you feel it should be.

  • Core Process Psychotherapy is a simple but profound practice that can be described as 'Mindfulness in Relationship'. Mindfulness is about bringing awareness to feelings, sensations and thoughts without judgement or giving advice. This allows you to become clearer about what is really going on for you. We tend to react to life events according to patterns set up in the past and through our work together we aim to bring awareness to this process which allows these reactions to reduce and makes space for more choice and freedom in how you feel, think and act. My work includes careful attention to the symptoms of shock and trauma.

  • Core Process is taught through the Karuna Institute in Devon and is accredited by the UKCP. 'Karuna' means compassion and Core Process is informed and supported by the wisdom and compassion of Buddhist psychology as well as modern Western psychotherapeutic approaches. I am an accredited Core Process Psychotherapist registered with the UKCP and I have worked in private practice in Cornwall and Berkshire since 2009. I was awarded an MA in Core Process Psychotherapy in 2011, a Diploma in Counselling in 2002 and a degree in Psychology in 2003. I work to the ethical guidelines of the Karuna Institute. I have a particular interest in working with bereaved parents.
